Okay, I know I said that I was probably done sewing for the week, but I became obsessed with the idea of making a back pack, so, well, that’s what I did.
I used the Prudent Baby toddler back pack tutorial, and whipped this up mighty quick. I’m guessing that if you skipped the applique and had all your fabrics prepped, this is a 30 minute project. The pack will be perfect for his first airplane ride, which could be coming up sooner than later.
The airplane (an idea I borrowed from Meg) is totally wonky, kind of a cross-between a torpedo and whale, but seriously stick figures are hard for me to draw. Oh, and yes, he is wearing those robot pants and navy blue nautical t-shirt. I’m so pleased that both outfits can be mixed and matched. Duck canvas and Airplane print: Fabric Depot Striped and maroon trims: Bolt
Whew! Time to put my house back together, tackle that mountain of laundry and fill the fridge – this space will more than likely be silent this week. Thank you Meg for hosting another amazing challenge. For more inspiration, be sure to check out the Flickr group. One could say it’s blowin’ up.

Thanks Felicity! He was totally dancing around and being a goof. I think we were singing “kitty cat, kitty cat, I love my kitty cat” or something of that nature (Carla it’s actually a leopard Beanie Baby that my dad bought me when I was like 15 or thereabouts).
Very cute! I’ve been looking for a drawstring backpack tutorial, thanks for sharing the link!
