kcwc: embroidered fox tee for two

Kids Clothes Week Challenge, Take Due.

To go along with those foxy pocket pants, I stitched up a little raw-edge raglan T, complete with an embroidered fox.

This is the second time that I have stitched this embroidery design, and I continue to be head over heels in love with it. I can’t freaking stand how adorable it is. I mean, come on. It looks like it belongs in The Chronicles of Narnia (like the 1988 PBS version – you know what I mean right?).

As for the T, I used a lightweight jersey and had to take 8,000 breaks in order to curb my frustration. I was pretty much Incredible Hulking-out about it. It curled so much that pressing the seams was futile, I had to re-cut and re-sew the neckband twice, and even though I swear I adhered to the 3/8″ seam allowance, the under arms are pretty wonky. I’ve used this pattern twice before with minimal issue but this time the only thing that saved me was Wonder Tape.

Thankfully, it’s still insanely adorable, especially paired with those striped sweater pants. I was able to inspect the whole ensemble in great detail (nearly an hour to be exact) when I locked my son and my keys in my car yesterday. Oh fun times.

PS – the whole roast chicken was a smashing success (contrary to the awful camera phone pic and burnt onions). I mean, smashing. I way overate. The bones are currently simmering in a pot on my stove, turning into golden delicious bone broth. Thank you Latisha for all the bomb tips. Delish!
